Adding and Viewing Web Links in the Trainer Portal

You can add web links to units and tasks in the Trainer Portal. If you are also using the VETtrak Student Portal for your students, you can use this as a way to distribute information in web links to your students, either individually or en masse. Students can also add links for you to view.

Adding a Web Link

To add a web link, click on the Actions link next to an individual task or unit, and select Add a web link.

 The following window will open:

  1. Enter the name of the link - this is the clickable text that will appear when you view the link.
  2. Enter the URL of the website you want to link to. It is best to visit the website itself and copy and paste the URL from your browser address bar, to avoid any typos that would make the link not work.
  3. Enter any relevant notes here.
  4. Tick this box if you want this link to be available to all students enrolled in this unit or task. If the link is for an individual student, leave the box unticked.
  5. Click Add web link.

Viewing Associated Web Links

You can view any web links previously associated with a task or unit. This includes links added by yourself and other trainers, as well as those added by students.

Web links are viewed in the same way as uploaded files - click on the Actions link and select View files.

 The following window will open:

To open the link, either:

  1. Click on the name of the link, or
  2. Click on the Actions link, then click on Open web link.

You can view the details of the link by clicking View details (3).
